While we're waiting

Since we're still awaiting word from Elder Davis' 1st area, we'll just have to get some 2nd hand information from some friends in GGCC.

Clark & Patsy Huber were in Eric's (Dallin's Dad) ward growing up. Their son and Eric were best friends. President Huber is now the temple president and Dallin has had the privilege of getting to know them and swap stories/info about home. Sister Huber was kind enough to share some information on Dallin as well as some photos. Thanks so much Sister Huber:

Molly & Eric,
How are you. I just wanted to let you know that your son is well and happy, and his Spanish is great. We have been seeing him quite often--we see him at the CCM (MTC), at meals, in the gym, and just around, also at the temple every week . He is an awesome young man and we know he will be a great missionary. We can see the love other missionaries have for him and he for them. He will love the people he serves as well. It has been fun being at the CCM with him.
He is leaving for his field of labor today, so I went down in hopes of getting some pictures of him that I could send you(sorry one is so blurry). I hope you get them ok. Let me know.
Love,
Patsy Huber

What's with the glasses big guy? And look at that focus!!

Dallin had a picture taken with a 2nd set of elders at the Guatemala MTC. It was a group shot of all the Missionaries. Try to find the Elders that coordinated a photo sabotage:

This last photo was lifted from Dallin's MTC/Provo companion's mission blog, Elder Hopkins. The 2 funny faces flanking Dallin are left Elder Hopkins, and right Elder Moon. Dallin's the one in the middle with the creepy smile.

Mom's questions:
When do you leave for the mission field?
Do you get a new P-day?
Have you gotten any written letters from anyone?
Tell us about the group picture, what's up with the funny faces?
Have you gotten to know any of the new missionaries?
Tell us about your funniest moment this past week?
Did you get to go out to preach this week?
Do you wash your own clothes?
What do you do on P-day?
Anything unsual happen this week?

Well thats good about the AC that would of been terrible.. I leave for the mission on monday I have no idea what my pday will be. Here I have not recieved anything hand written that i know of. I didnt know you could see the group pictures but its juwst are way of copping with being here 6 weeks and ina training center for 9. I totally know all the nuevos and ther are all cool. My funiest moment this week was.... I dont know well the doctor of the area came and that was a blast. We did go to the plaza but about 20 min in it started pouring but great learning experience as a whole. Pday comprises of any thing you want basically that is within mission rules but we usually just sit and talk in the classroom. Nothing to unusual except at the plaza some guy was wasting our time and really detracting from our ability to teach so I literally had to command him to leave us alone (would have paid some $ to see that). He did and we went our way. Alright thanks Mom love you and take care

THats right its the last week I am so excited we heard from E. Martino of the 70 las tnight and it was uplifting. I read through my journal and see my progress and am amazed. I am glad to hear about brandon and that you had a great fathers day. Well I got to go love you and take care.

So here are your questions for this week: (From Momma Davis)

What day do they celebrate Father's Day in Guatemala? Is it a set date or does it change like we do it here?

What's the weather like?

So how was it having some extra responsibilities at the CCM?

How often do new missionaries come in? Weekly?

Tell me what was your best experience this week?

Tell me about your Mission President? What is he like?

Tell me about your companion now? Are you getting along?

When do you leave to go out to the mission field? Are you nervous?

So, can you send pictures? Take lots of pictures as you are out on your mission. We want to see where you are going and what your companions look like. And it's just so much fun to recieve pictures, I feel that we are more connected that way, so don't forget to do that.

I have no Idea about Fathers day down here no one has mentioned it So I guess We will see. The weatheris great a little humid but the temp is nice and I am used to the humidity. Right now it is supposed to be the rainy season but its mostly just cloudy all not quite overcast just huge clouds. It is really hard to all the responsibilties ande get missionary stuff done because the teqachers really hound you, but it is for our benefit. Misionaries come in every three weeks so we got to know the last group they left and now we are starting to know the new group. This week my best experience was our copmpanionship inventory. It was awesome its not like we werent getting along but we werent being the best copmpanionship as we could. So after it was good.We always get along and always resolve conflicts. i dont know my mission president but the CCM pres. is awesome being his assistants we really get to know him. Pres Steimle. is his name I Think i leqave in two weeks and I am so excited. I take alot of pictures but i dont think there is any way to send tem here When I am in the field I will just send my SD card home and buy a new one. I love you mom and am thankful for your example in my life. I dont think I told you enough when I was home.

Okay so here are your questions for this week? (these are from Mom)

How was your temple trip this past week?
What do you see and feel is different since the first time you went?
Do you do the session in spanish?
So how is it being the older missionaries at the MTC now?
Have you guys done any pranks or jokes on anyone?
What was your most spiritual experience this week?
Tell me about one new person you have gotten to get to know this week?
Are the Hubers there permanantly now or were they just visiting and they come back later?
Como vas con el Espanol?

temple was great really enjoyed it as always it alwys is different in some special way maybe thats why I like it so much I think we do a session tommorow in spanish but that has yet to be detemined. It is wierd to think we are the experienced ones now but I guess it has to happen. Me and my companion got assigned APs of the CCM I really didnt want to but I am excited for the oportunity to serve my fellow misionaries. We havent done any pranks but we mess around alot. Besides that it is almost always spiritual and I have actually grown tolove teaching and talking with new people. I have really gotten to know one of the supervisors he is really a cool guy and has worked here for three years. the hubers are here and everything sister huber was actually in one of the last sesions working and everything.

Me and my comp are great he is an awesome guy who is one of the most honest people i ever meet. The stomache and everything else is fine now. We did get a chance to go to a plaza and proselyte.I thankfully had a latin comp, he mostly talked but it was a great experience all together. The city looks amazing wow i am so excited to get out there. My funiest experience was we were singing as a district and my old comp e hopkins was singing a high tenor part but he sounded super wierd. Me and e moon we looking at eachother laughing our heads off he still couldnt figure we were laughing at him. The most spirirtual was when we were Teaching and that whole lesson was wierd it wasnt really me talking anymore. That is something I will always remember. All the Latinos are awsome we all really do love the guys and are friends even though its hard to talk to eachother through spanish. Being raised the way I was has helped my pronunciation my teachers like that. I did go to the temple last week it was fantastic and i get to go again today. I do write josh i actually got to get to that.

Thanks dad i havent heard from bo yet but he is prob busy. the weather is great sheesh it ha s been soo awesome. We did go out and contact at a plaza yesterday and will get to do it again in a couple weeks everyone besides us leaves next tuesday. But we get to go to tha market i got 3 weks as of yesterday. Well I love you dad I will try to stay as focused as i can
